House Intelligence Committee chairman blasts president in new op-ed
Adam Schiff takes issue with Trump’s reaction to the election results
Democratic House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Adam Schiff accused President Donald Trump of impeding the “peaceful transfer of power” in an op-ed USA Today.
For years, Schiff hyped the now-debunked allegations of “Russia collusion,” took issue with Trump’s reaction to the election results.
The outgoing Obama administration in 2016 and 2017 used intelligence to undermine the incoming Trump administration with false allegations about collusion with Russia.
In 2017, Schiff insisted there was “more than circumstantial” evidence of collusion.
But his claims proved to be false after Special Counsel Robert Mueller‘s investigation found there was no evidence that any American colluded with Russia.
Schiff also said the FBI did nothing wrong in seeking secret FISA warrants against Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

Schiff’s statement was also later disproven by the Department of Justice Inspector General’s investigation.
In Schiff’s USA Today op-ed, he wrote:
President Donald Trump went to Arlington National Cemetery on Wednesday, Veterans Day, to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. For any other American president, this simple act of remembrance would serve to reinforce the bond between the American people and the millions of our fellow citizens who have taken up arms in the nation’s defense over the past two and a half centuries.
But Trump’s pantomime of patriotic fealty at Arlington was belied by his refusal to honor the most sacred obligation of any president — a commitment to an orderly, peaceful transfer of power from one chief executive to the next.
The results of this election are clear: Trump lost, Biden won, and no amount of misinformation spread by the president will change that. It isn’t even close. Biden won with likely more than 300 Electoral College votes and a margin of more than 5 million popular votes.
Schiff also was leading the effort to impeach and remove Trump from office in 2019 and 2020, which was conducted mostly behind closed doors

Trump was later acquitted by the Senate.
Earlier this year, Schiff said Democrats would “expose” President Trump’s “wrongdoing” when his presidency ends.
“After the election, after he’s gone, then I think we have to continue to expose what he did in office because, of course, the administration has stonewalled us in every way it can,” Schiff told “Crooked Media” host Jon Lovett.
Rep. Jim Jordan pointed out on Sunday that Democrats who are opposing investigations into Joe Biden’s media-projected ‘victory,’ spent four years probing the Russia hoax.
“Look, the Democrats spent four years investigating the Russian hoax, but they don’t want to take four weeks investigating the integrity of this election when you have all these affidavits, you have all these concerns?”
