Pelosi Spokesman Denies Report House Leaders Are Telling Democrats Not to Join Biden

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) spokesman denied a report that House Democratic leaders have called on members of their caucus not to join Democratic candidate Joe Biden’s team out of concern that their dwindling majority will erode even further. “This is completely false. The speaker wants the full contribution of House Democrats to the Biden-Harris mandate and to the future represented in the administration,” said Pelosi spokesman Drew Hammill to the New York Post. The NY Post, citing anonymous sources, claimed Pelosi and House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) told members that they shouldn’t join Biden’s team. But there has been speculation that with about a dozen House seats being taken by GOP members during the past election, Pelosi will have a much harder time promoting her agenda.
