Philadelphia Bans All Indoor Gatherings of Any Size, Broadens CCP Virus Rules

Philadelphia will ban all indoor gatherings and highly restrict outdoor events amid a rise in CCP virus cases in the sixth largest U.S. city, health commissioner Thomas Farley said Monday. The city will also ban indoor dining at restaurants, shut down libraries, museums, gyms, and casinos, ban in-person teaching at college and high schools, and reduce occupancy at stores and religious institutions, Farley told reporters. The restrictions will be effective from Friday and last until at least the end of 2020. City officials said that the banning of all indoor gatherings will not be enforced. Farley said that the city is seeking voluntary compliance. He said that the CCP (Chinese Communist Party) virus is rampant and “spreading a little bit everywhere,” with new confirmed infections growing about 4 percent daily.
